Two new Red Cross projects are up and
running in Poland, to provide continuing assistance to communities devastated
by
floods earlier this year. With support from the Federation, and with Netherlands
and Swiss Red Cross funding, the Polish Red Cross is implementing a winter
assistance programme for children. In the south-west of the country,
a school canteen project will provide hot meals to more than 1,000 children
until next March. In addition 5,000 winter jackets and thousands of pairs
of shoes will be distributed to children.
