In August and September 2024, IOM Poland’s Data and Research Unit conducted a Needs Assessment Survey with 313 refugees from Ukraine residing in 59 collective sites across eight powiats (counties) in the Małopolskie Voivodeship (province). This assessment provides a snapshot of vulnerable populations, including households with persons with disabilities. The findings are intended to guide the planning and implementation of programming to support refugees from Ukraine displaced in Małopolskie.
Respondents were asked the Washington Group Short Set of questions to identify functional limitations in six domains: difficulties with seeing (even while wearing glasses), hearing (with hearing aids), walking or climbing steps, remembering or concentrating, performing self-care activities like washing or dressing, and communicating with others due to a physical, emotional, or mental health condition. This report examines the extent and impact of health and functional barriers faced by refugees from Ukraine, highlighting the specific difficulties this group encounters.
