Highlights:

· Over 6.3 million Ukrainian refugees remain in Europe, with many experiencing increasing vulnerabilities due to diminishing assistance, while the ongoing war in Ukraine hinders sustainable returns. Vulnerable refugee households struggle with housing and employment, children and adolescents’ access to education remains inadequate, and family separation exacerbates psychological distress, gender-based violence risks, and social isolation, alongside unmet mental health and psychosocial needs.

· Since 1 January 2025, 42,911 children and caregivers accessed mental health and psychosocial support, 64,758 people were provided with access to safe spaces, protection and support hubs, 5,881 women and children received primary health care services, and 113,704 children benefitted from

formal and non-formal education, including early learning. A total of 434,626 people were reached with messaging on prevention and access to services.

· UNICEF's interventions to support Ukrainian refugees are generously funded by a broad community of donors. By 31 March, UNICEF had secured 52 per cent of its 2025 Humanitarian Action for Children (HAC) appeal of US$95.6 million, but funding gaps persisted in the critical areas of education and social protection.
