TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Dec. 11 (PIA) - Some 2,000 families in Tuguegarao City received “Kalinga Packs” from SM Foundation in partnership with SM Center Tuguegarao Downtown (SMTD) during its recently concluded series of relief operation on Dec. 7- 9.

Dubbed as ‘Operation Tulong Express’, Gerina Malubay-Torno, press relations officer said, the relief operation was able to reach seven heavily-affected barangays in Tuguegarao City to include Centro 10, Centro 11, Gosi Sur and Norte, Libag Sur, Tagga, and Annafunan East.

Torno said aside from goodie bags given to the affected individuals, the mall also established a free charging station in the city to benefit those citizens living in areas where power service was shut down by the electric cooperative for safety reasons.

On the other hand, the beneficiaries were very grateful to SM Foundation as they received their share from employees of mall according to Torno.

For more than three decades, SM Foundation has become the heart of the SM group of companies focused on social inclusion by nurturing and caring for underserved communities where SM is present. (MDCT with reports from Gerina Malubay-Torno/PIA-2)
