Red Cross launches Community Health and Hygiene Promotion Project in Cebu

The Philippine Red Cross’ (PRC) Health Services together with the PRC Cebu Chapter launched the Community Health and Hygiene Promotion Project (CHHP) in Northern Cebu on June 16, 2017 at Ala Mercedes Gold Course, in Medellin, Cebu.

The project seeks to continually address the need to improve access to public health service delivery for the most vulnerable communities to create healthier, safer and resilient communities.

The 2-year developmental project is supported by the Japanese Red Cross Society (JRCS), covering the three municipalities, which include Daanbantayan, Medellin, and Sta. Fe in northern part of Cebu.

PRC also targeting a total of 6,000 households from 15 barangays and 10,800 school children from 17 schools.

The PRC Chapter Board of Directors together with its staff and volunteers, as well as Japanese Red Cross Society delegates graced the said event.

Representatives from the Provincial Government of Cebu, Municipal Officers from the Municipal Government Unit of Daanbantayan, Medellin and Sta Fe, representatives from the District Division of the Department of Education, school principals, and Barangay officials were also present in the project launching.
