BAGUIO CITY, Feb. 3 (PIA) - - Donations, consisting of food products, clothing, and other non-food items, were loaded into two 6x6 army type trucks on January 30 for hauling to Clark where it will be transported by the Philippine Air Force (PAF) to the typhoon victim beneficiaries in Cagayan De Oro.
The said donations were collected through the effort of Tambalang Sagip Buhay, a joint project of Philippine Red Cross (PRC) – Baguio chapter and the E-Carta Productions and Promotions, which handles the Tambalang Tata Edong at Lolo Doro on FM Station Z Radio.
PAF Lieutenants Julio Cervino and Ramon Christofer Engay who oversaw the loading of the donations from the PRC office here, said the goods will be initially brought to the PAF base in Clark before it will be loaded into an aircraft or sea vessel, whichever they foresee as the soonest schedule that will bring the donations to Cagayan De Oro.
PRC-Baguio chapter administrator Annie Tamayo, in an interview, expressed her gratitude to the PAF, which through the request letter they sent to the PAF Tactical Operations Group 1 (TOG1) in Loakan Airport, has agreed to transport of the donated goods to the typhoon victims..
Tamayo also called on the kind hearted people, who still want to donate to typhoon stricken- citizens to just bring their donations to their office along Harrison Road. She reiterated that donations in cash will be the best kind of donations at it can easily be sent to the beneficiaries. She said they have already sent almost P100,000 donations to typhoon victims in Mindanao. (JDP/LD-PIA CAR)
