About 249,000 people affected by fighting between a splinter group of the Moro National Liberation Front and the Armed Forces of the Philippines in Zamboanga City and Basilan province.
72,000 people displaced by the conflict in Zamboanga City and 13,500 people are displaced in Basilan.
Non-food items, water, sanitation and hygiene, medicine, and camp management support were identified priority needs in evacuation centres based on initial rapid assessments by NGO partners.
