Typhoon Haima (Lawin) entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility on 17 October 2016 and made landfall in Peñablanca, Cagayan province, at 11:00 pm on 19 October. Most provinces in northern Luzon have been greatly affected, including widespread damage to buildings and infrastructures and flooding to low-lying communities. People displaced by the typhoon are currently being served in and outside evacuation centres as the Government-led emergency response continues. As of 22 October 2016, official figures of people displaced and houses damaged have been updated by the Department of Social Welfare and Development through its Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center and in the latest situational report by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
