Attachments

Successive tropical cyclones have inflicted significant damage on the Philippines, with Super Typhoon Man-yi, locally known as Pepito, being the latest to make landfall. Packing sustained winds of over 185 km/h, the typhoon struck Panganiban, Catanduanes, on 16 November, followed by a second landfall in Dipaculao, Aurora Province, on 17 November. Many of the affected areas were still recovering from previous cyclones, further exacerbating the challenges faced by vulnerable communities. As the sixth cyclone to hit the Philippines in just one month, Super Typhoon Man-yi has compounded an already dire situation. Humanitarian partners are continuing to provide critical life-saving assistance and are working to update the Humanitarian Needs and Priorities (HNP) plan to address the escalating needs.
