I. SITUATION OVERVIEW

A. BACKGROUND

- The northeast mosoon that prevailed over Northern and Central Luzon and the tail-end of a cold front affecting Southern luzon, Visayas and Mindanao triggered the occurence of moderate to heavy rains and subsequent floodings and series of landslide incidents affecting 24 provinces in regions IV-B, V, VII, VIII, X, XI, CARAGA and ARMM. Listing of areas affected by landslides, floodings & storm surge is on Tab A.
