I. WEATHER SITUATION

- Typhoon "Kiko" has slightly weakened as it continues to move northwestward

- At 04:00 PM today, the center of Typhoon "Kiko" was located based on satellite and surface data at 460 km North Northwest of Basco, Batanes (24.9=B0N, 120.5=B0E) with maximum sustained winds of 120kph near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph moving Northwest at 9 kph

- It is expected to be at 540 km North Northwest of Basco, Batanes or 130 km West Northwest of Northern Taiwan tomorrow morning and at 250 km Northwest of Northern Taiwan by tomorrow afternoon

- PSWS No. 1 hoisted over Batanes including Babuyan and Calayan Islands

- Typhoon "KIKO" will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon and bring occasional rains over the western part of Northern of Luzon

- Residents in low lying areas and near mountain slopes are advised to take all the necessary precautionary measures against possible flashfloods and landslides

II. EFFECTS

A. Population Affected

- A total of 16,722 families / 83,450 persons were affected in 93 barangays of 4 cities and 11 municipalities in seven 7 provinces of Regions II, III, NCR and CAR

- Out of the number affected, 1,965 families / 8,342 persons were evacuated to 14 evacuation centers

- A total of 4,094 families / 22,208 persons were served both outside and inside 14 evacuation centers

B. Casualties (total: 21 dead and 18 injured, 1 missing)

- 21 dead (13 in Baguio City due to landslide (10 identified and 2 unidentified), and 6 in Capaz, Tarlac, 1 in Botolan, Zambales and 1 in Mandaluyong City due to drowning)

- 18 injured (12 in Baguio City, Benguet and 6 in Sta. Juliana, Capas, Tarlac)

- 1 missing' (swept by strong current at the irrigation channel in Brgy. Pogo, Bautista, Pangasinan)
