Philippines: Mindanao Displacement Snapshot as of 30 November 2024

Attachments

The trough of Severe Tropical Storm Trami/Kristine brought heavy to intense rain in parts of Mindanao and caused displacement due to flooding in various areas in the Bangsamoro Region. Series of armed conflict in Maguindanao last October and November displaced more than 10,000 people in several municipalities.

Generally, displacement incidents in the Bangsamoro Region are due to longstanding issues on land disputes, often entwined with political rivalry and clan feuds. Military operations against Non-State Armed Groups (NSAGs), annual flooding and weather disturbances also trigger cyclical displacements, making displacement situation complex and often protracted.
