Philippines: Mindanao Displacement Snapshot as of 28 February 2025

Attachments

On 12 February 2025, clan war erupted in Barangay Libutan, Mamasapano, Maguindanao del Sur that displaced over 2,200 people (455 families) from Liab and Libutan.

Generally, displacement incidents in the Bangsamoro Region are due to longstanding issues on land disputes, often entwined with political rivalry and clan feuds. Military operations against Non-State Armed Groups (NSAGs), annual flooding and weather disturbances also trigger cyclical displacements, making displacement situation complex and often protracted.
