Philippines: Mindanao Displacement Snapshot as of 23 July 2025

Attachments

Over 115,000 people in Mindanao, mostly in the BARMM region, have been affected by the combined effects of a Low Pressure Area (LPA), Tropical Cyclone ‘Crising,’ and the Southwest Monsoon, which brought heavy to intense rains that caused floods and landslides. Generally, displacement incidents in the Bangsamoro Region are due to longstanding issues on land disputes, often entwined with political rivalry and clan feuds. Military operations against Non-State Armed Groups (NSAGs), annual flooding and weather disturbances also trigger cyclical displacements, making displacement situation complex and often protracted.
