Over 122,000 people have been displaced in Mindanao due to conflict, natural disasters, and long-term crises. Armed conflicts, including the Marawi conflict and clashes between rival groups, have displaced more than 90,000 individuals. Severe weather events, such as heavy rains, monsoons, landslides, and earthquakes, have forced over 25,000 from their homes, particularly in Davao de Oro, South Cotabato, and Sultan Kudarat. Generally, displacement incidents in the Bangsamoro Region are due to longstanding issues on land disputes, often entwined with political rivalry and clan feuds. Military operations against Non-State Armed Groups (NSAGs), annual flooding and weather disturbances also trigger cyclical displacements, making displacement situation complex and often protracted.
