Philippines: Mindanao Displacement Snapshot as of 12 October 2023

In September 2023, multiple armed encounters occured in the municipalities of South Upi, Datu Odin Sinsuat (DOS), Datu Abdullah Sangki (DAS), and Datu Hoffer between Non-State Armed Groups (NSAGs). More than 22,000 people were displaced during the conflict. Displacements in Maguindanao in September includes 1,150 from South Upi, 640 from DOS, 15,660 from DAS and 1,250 from Datu Hoffer. Flooding brought by weather disturbances displaced over 300 people in South Cotabato, 1,500 people in Pikit Cluster, Special Geographic Area (SGA), 400 people in Misamis Occidental and over 12,000 people in Davao Del Sur province. On 11 October, forced evacuation of residents was reported in Midsayap Cluster, SGA due to presence of Private Armed Group.
