Philippines - Floods and Landslides (PAGASA , NDRRMC) (ECHO Daily Flash of 05 February 2024)

  • During the period of 28 January - 2 February, the Northeast Monsoon and a Low-Pressure Area (LPA) have affected Mindanao Island, southern Philippines causing floods and landslides and resulting in casualties and damage.

  • According to national authorities, at least 16 people have died in the Davao Region, three are still missing and 11 have been injured. In addition, almost 400,000 have been displaced and more than 812,000 have been affected across five Regions of Mindanao.

  • For the next 24 hours, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are forecast over the island.
