Philippines - Floods and landslides (DSWD DROMIC, PAGASA) (ECHO Daily Flash of 21 March 2025)

  • Heavy rainfall has been affecting most of Mindanao Island, southern Philippines, over the last week, causing floods and triggering landslides that have resulted in population evacuation and damage.
  • The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD DROMIC) reports, as of 20 March, 133 displaced people, a total of nearly 19,200 affected people and 15 damaged houses across the Davao region (south-eastern Mindanao Island), where the most affected are the Davao de Oro and the Davao Occidental provinces.
  • Over the next 72 hours, more rainfall is still forecast over most of Mindanao Island.
