Heavy rainfall has been affecting north-western Mindano island, southern Philippines and western Visayas, central Philippines since the morning (UTC) of 29 November, causing floods and triggering landslides that have resulted in population evacuation and damage.
The ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet) reports, as of 2 December, more than 2,500 evacuated people in 14 evacuation centres across the Northern Mindano region. In addition, the same source reports over 240 evacuated people in six evacuation centres, and a total of 4,260 affected people in the Western Visayas region.
Over the next 24 hours, more heavy rainfall with locally very heavy rainfall is still forecast over most of the country.
