Heavy rainfall has been affecting southern Philippines (in particular the western Mindanao island) since 7 June, causing floods that have resulted in population displacement and damage.
The ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet) reports, as of 9 June, more than 4,500 evacuated people in 15 evacuation centres and 64 damaged houses across the Zamboanga Peninsula region (western Mindanao island) where the most affected is the Zamboanga del Sur province.
Over the next 72 hours, more heavy rainfall is still forecast over the whole Mindanao island.
