Two major earthquakes hit North Cotabato over the last several days, with two major earthquakes on 29 and 31 October 2019, at 6.3 and 6.6 magnitudes, respectively. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reports that aftershocks are expected over the coming days and weeks. Intensity VII was felt in Tulunan, M’lang and Makilala in Cotabato; Magsaysay and Digos City in Davao del Sur; and Kidapawan City.

As of the latest Department of Social Welfare and Development DROMIC report, 5,497 families or 27,485 persons are displaced. There are 4,127 families or 20,635 persons taking shelter in 27 evacuation centers.

Damage to houses is widely reported, with a total of 27,309 houses, with 20,912 totally damaged and 6,397 partially damaged.
