On 15 December 2019 at 2:11 p.m., a 6.9-magnitude earthquake with 3 km depth struck Matanao municipality in the province of Davao del Sur. This earthquake is some 25 kilometers away from the epicenters of a series of strong earthquakes that hit less then two months ago. The cumulative damage of these earthquakes is yet to be fully understood.
