NDRRMC Update: Situational Report No. 5 regarding Preparedness Measures and Effects for Northeast Monsoon as of 10 December, 8:00 AM

SITUATION OVERVIEW

Tail-end of a Cold Front affects the Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas while Northeast Monsoon affects the rest of Luzon.

Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms caused by Tail End of a Cold Front will be experience over Bicol Region, Quezon, and Samar provinces. Impacts are possible flashfloods or rain induced landslides during severe thunderstorm.

Cloudy skies with light rains caused by Northeast Monsoon will be experience over Cagayan Valley, CAR, Ilocos provinces, and Aurora province. Impacts are gusty conditions in coastal and mountainous areas.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers caused by localized thunderstorms will be experience over Mindanao, Palawan, and the rest of Visayas. Impacts are possible flashfloods or rain induced landslides during severe thunderstorm. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains caused by Northeast Monsoon will be experience over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon with no significant impact.

ll. EFFECTS

A. Affected Population (TAB A)

A total of 77,094 families / 301,271 persons were affected in 541 barangays in Regions ll and CAR. Of which, a total of 2,177 families / 7,472 persons taking temporary shelter in 52 evacuation centers while 2,900 families / 13,429 persons are currently staying with their relatives and/or friends in Regions II and CAR.

B. Damage to Infrastructure

Damaged Houses

A total of 86 houses in Regions II and CAR were either partially or totally damaged.
