Region VI

Tornado Incident in Negros Occidental

· A tornado incident occurred in Brgy. Bantayan, Kabankalan City in Negros Occidental with 21 families affected and 13 houses partially damaged

B. Casualties (Dead – 3)

C. Cancelled Flights

· Cebu Pacific Flights (to and from Manila to Cauayan, Isabela and to and from Manila to Caticlan) were cancelled on 20 February 2012 due to weather condition

III. Actions Taken

Region IV-A

· The Municipal Police of Real, Quezon, 76IB Philippine Army, Municipal DRRMO and LGU conducted inspection and investigation at the landslide site · DPWH Engineering Unit deployed heavy equipment at Tignoan-Talisay boundary to clear/remove the debris caused by landslide
· Contingents from the 2ID of the Philippine Army and PNP team assisted in the clearing and safety operations in Tignoan-Tanauan section and other minor slide
· As of 5:00 PM, 20 February 2012, the Municipal Mayor of Real Quezon ordered immediate evacuation of around 200 persons at risk from Brgys Tanauan,
Capalong and Tignoan. Affected families stayed at the Pasalubong Center

Region V

· The Local Government of Pandan distributed relief goods to the affected families and warned them not to return home yet due to continuous rains
· The Local Government of Viga initiated clearing operations on the roads affected

Region VI

· The Local Government of Kabankalan City provided food assistance to the affected families
