A. Severe Weather Bulletin No. 14 re Typhoon “CHEDENG” (SONGDA)

· Typhoon “Chedeng” has slightly intensified as it continues to move Northwestward

· At 4:00 PM today, the eye of Typhoon “CHEDENG” was located based on radar, satellite and surface data at 300 km East Southeast of Casiguran, Aurora or at 260 km North Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes (15.8°N, 125.4°E) with a maximum sustained winds of 175 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 210 kph and is forecast to move Northwest at 19 kph

· Typhoon “Chedeng” is expected to be at 320 km North Northeast of Casiguran, Aurora or at 200 km East Northeast of Aparri, Cagayan by tomorrow afternoon. By Saturday afternoon, it will be at 590 km Northeast of Basco, Batanes or 190 km Southwest of Okinawa, Japan

· Signal No. 1 is hoisted over Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Albay, Quirino, Aurora, Quezon Provinces including Polillo Island, Isabela and Cagayan

· Typhoon “Chedeng” is expected to enhance the Southwest monsoon and will bring rains over Visayas and Mindanao
