The monitored Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 900 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur (8.0N, 134.5E) at 10:00AM. The weather disturbance is expected to bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Southern Luzon, and Northern Mindanao by weekend. It is possible to intensify into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

The Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 615 km East of Surigao City, Surigao del Sur (9.8N, 131.0E) at 10:00AM. The weather disturbance is expected to bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over the regions of Eastern Visayas and CARAGA. Meanwhile, Bicol Region and the rest of Visayas and of Mindanao will have light to moderate rains and thunderstorms. Metro Manila will experience generally light rains, apart from some isolated thunderstorms, starting Sunday.
The LPA developed into a Tropical Depression and was named "CRISING".
Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal (TCWS) No, 1 is raised in Sorsogon, Albay, and Masbate including Ticao Island in Luzon and Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran, and northern portion of Leyte in Visayas.
Forecast to make landfall over Samar Island on Saturday, 15 April 2017 early afternoon and expected to traverse Southern Luzon area particularly Masbate, Romblon, Mindoro until Sunday, 16 April 2017 in the evening.

The center of Tropical Depression "CRISING" was estimated at 220 km East of Guivan, Eastern Samar (10.9°N, 127.7°E) with maximum winds of up to 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 68 kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 22 kph.
Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal (TCWS) No. 1 is raised in Sorsogon, Albay, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Burias Island, Romblon, Masbate including Ticao Island in Luzon and Aklan, Capiz, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran, and northern portion of Leyte in Visayas.
