I. SITUATION OVERVIEW

11 February 2018

At 5:00 PM, the Tropical Depression (TD) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has intensified into a Tropical Storm (TS) and is expected to enter PAR in the evening.

Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal (TCWS) #1 is raised over Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Oriental

At 11 :00 PM, the Tropical Storm outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has entered PAR and was named "BASYANG". It has a maximum sustained winds of up to 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph and forecasted to move West Northwest at 27 kph.

At 5:00 AM, "BASYANG" has slightly slowed down as it continues to track in a West Northwest direction.

TCWS #1 is raised in Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Camiguin, Compostela Valley, Davao Oriental, Davao del Norte, Misamis Oriental, Lanao del Sur, and Bukidnon.

At 8:00 AM, "BASYANG" maintained its strength as it moves towards the direction of Eastern Mindanao.

TCWS #2 is raised over Surigao del Sur while TCWS #1 is raised over Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Camiguin, Compostela Valley, Davao Oriental, Davao del Norte, Misamis Oriental Mlsamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, and Bukidnon.
