I. SITUATION OVERVIEW
· Based on the findings of the investigation conducted by the Joint team of Daraga RHU and PHO-PESU from April 27 to May 2, 2011, the total cases of diarrhea in Purok 6,
Gapo, Daraga, Albay rose to 28. Out of 28 cases, three (3) were reported dead
· Victims’ ages ranged from 8 months to 53 years old. Median is 30 years old with three (3) fatalities, one (1) last 26 April 2011 who was confined at Ludovice General Hospital and the two (2) were this weekend who were among those already admitted in the Bicol Regional Teaching and Training Hospital (BRTTH).
· Fifty five percent (55%) of those affected were adult males (ratio: 12/22). Majority of the cases showed signs of LBM (more than 3 times), nausea/vomiting, and yellowish to greenish stool. To date, there are still four (4) patients confined at BRTTH
· The cause of said cases was due to drinking from the water pump and unimproved spring
