NDRRMC Situation Report No. 2 on Tropical Storm "Bebeng" - International Name "AERE"

SITUATION OVERVIEW:

• As of 10:00 AM, 8 May 2011, Tropical Strom Bebeng has made landfall over Northern Catanduanes and was heading towards Quezon- Aurora area

• Luis Dingcol, 47 years old, of Brgy. Canlanpay, Carigara, Leyte, died due to drowning

• A total of 626 families /3,130 persons from Brgys Ma-in, Punta, San Isidro, Licuma, Libertad, San Juan, Bagong Buhay and Lao all in
Ormoc City were evacuated to the barangay halls, school bldgs, residential houses and chapels due to flooding as high as two (2) meters

• A total of 1,110 families/5,550 persons in 20 Brgys of Lope de Vega, Northern Samar; 100 familie/500 persons in four (40 barangays in Catarman, Northern Samar were evacuated to the Municipal Hall and
relatives due to flooding. Three (3) barangays in Gandara, Samar were
also affected

• Landslide occurred in Brgy Nadonghulan, Ormoc City on May 7, 2011 at 8:00 AM, wherein six (6) barangays were evacuated to Brgy Hall of Alta Vista

• Roads in Barangays Canligues and Concepcion in Paranas and Barangays Parina and Macabetas in Jiabong are not passable due to flooding. Southroad from Calbayog to Catarman is also impassable

• Part of Northern Samar municipalities have no electric power
