I. SITUATION OVERVIEW
• Regional Director Rio Magpantay of the Center for Health and Development Ill, Regional Health Office III reported that the number of dengue cases continue to rise in the region after posting at least 200 % increase during the first quarter of the year.
• According to the Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (RESU) in Region Ill, there were 3,688 dengue cases reported from January 1 to April 16, 2011 . The reported cases this year is higher than during the same months last year.
• Provinces with the most number of dengue cases were Bulacan (1 ,253), Nueva Ecija (927), and Pampanga (701).
