Typhoon Haima (Local Name: Lawin) affected about 318,736 people from Regions I, II, III, Calabarzon, V and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) which includes the pre - emptively evacuated. Twelve deaths are confirmed, 46,000 houses damaged and 64 barangays in Pangasinan (Region I), and Bataan and Pampanga (Region) III are flooded. A total of Php2.5B worth of damages from infrastructure and agriculture was incurred in Regions I, II, III and CAR.
The Government of the Philippines has anticipated and effectively prepared for the impacts of Typhoon Haima. Presently, there is no request for international assistance. The Government is utilising national capacity and resources to provide assistance to the disaster victims and recover from the situation.
The AHA Centre deployed two staffs and two National ASEAN-ERAT members to the Philippines to liaise and coordinate with the NDRRMC, as well as join the NDRRMC Composite RDANA Teams.
- The Disaster Response Cluster is now De-activated. The NDRRMC Alert is now lowered to Blue Alert (from Red Alert). The early recovery phase will soon start.
