Education disrupted, education denied
Marawi, Philippines: Children’s right to education is threatened
This brief documents the impact of the May 2017 armed conflict in Marawi City on children's access to quality education and safety. It describes emergency action taken by Save the Children to enroll displaced children in temporary schools and specifically makes programmatic and policy recommendations for NGOs and the Government of Philippines regarding the protection of children and integration of childhood safety and welfare into disaster risk management plans.
This brief is part of a regular series, "Education Disrupted, Education Denied", which highlights how disasters impact education, and advocates to keep education safe from disasters for every child.
