I. Situation Overview

On 18 June 2024, Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms caused by Southwest Monsoon that may have brought possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains in Palawan, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, BARMM, and SOCCSKSARGEN.

On the same day at around 5AM, several barangays in the municipalities Pagalungan and Datu Montawal in Maguindanao del Sur experienced flooding due to heavy rains brought by the Southwest Monsoon.

II. Status of Affected Areas and Population

A total of 13,370 families or 68,650 persons are affected in 34 barangays in Maguindanao del Sur (see Annex A).
