I. Situation Overview

On 15 July 2024, an ongoing military operations of the 74th Infantry “Unbeatable” Batallion of the Philippine Army in Brgy. Cabatuan, Palapag, Northern Samar restricted temporarily the residents to visit their farmlands due to the presence of armed terrorists in the area. The encounter posed threat and danger to the families and persons that caused disruption to their livelihood.

Relative to the incident, the DSWD through its Field Office in Region VIII, provided relief assistance to address the immediate needs of the affected families and individuals.

II. Status of Affected Areas and Population

A total of 950 families or 3,800 persons were affected in Brgy. Cabatuan, Palapag, Northern Samar (see Annex A).
