I. Situation Overview

On 09 August 2023, the Municipality of Sablayan in Occidental Mindoro and the Municipality of Pandag in Maguindanao experienced flooding due to the effects of Southwest Monsoon.

On 11 August 2023, several municipalities in Western Visayas started to report the effects of Southwest Monsoon.

On 12 August 2023, several barangays in Zamboanga City also experienced flooding due to continuous heavy rains caused by Southwest Monsoon.

On 20 August 2023, the Davao Region also started reporting incidents of flooding and flash flood in the provinces of Davao del Norte, Davao Oriental, and Davao Occidental due to the effects of Southwest Monsoon.

II. Status of Affected Areas and Population

A total of 24,472 families or 112,165 persons are affected in 106 barangays in Regions MIMAROPA, VI, IX, XI, and BARMM (see Table 1).
