I. Situation Overview
On 17 November 2023 at 4:14 PM, a 6.8-magnitude earthquake jolted the Municipality of Sarangani, Davao Occidental (5.38°N, 125.24°E - 028 km S 68°W) with a tectonic origin and a depth of focus 063 km. The earthquake was also felt in the neighboring municipalities.
II. Status of Affected Areas and Population
A total of 16,872 families or 81,664 persons are affected in 118 barangays in Regions XI and XII (see Annex A).
