Situation Overview

On 12 December 2017, the monitored Low Pressure Area east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur has developed into a Tropical Depression and was named “Urduja”. It has intensified into a Tropical Storm as it continued to threaten Samar provinces on 14 December 2017.

1. Status of Affected Families / Persons

35,188 families or 158,700 persons are affected in 326 barangays in Regions V, VIII and CARAGA (see Table 1).

2. Status of Displaced Families / Persons

A total of 8,997 families or 39,375 persons are currently staying inside 144 evacuation centers in Regions V, VIII and CARAGA while 1 family or 4 persons are currently staying outside evacuation center in Region VIII (see Table 2).

3. Status of Stranded Passengers

There are 7,120 stranded passengers in Regions MIMAROPA, V, and CARAGA. (See Table 3)
