I. Situation Overview
Issued on 12 July 2024 at 4:00 AM, the Southwest Monsoon may have brought possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains to the western sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao
On the same day, heavy rainfall in Datu Montawal (Papagawan), Maguindanao del Sur caused the Pulangi / Rio Grande de Mindanao River to rise and consequently, resulted to flooding in some low-lying barangays. Sustained heavy rains also caused the Tual, Nalus, and Pangi Rivers to overflow and subsequently submerge several houses in Kiamba, Sarangani.
On 12 July 2024, several areas in Zamboanga Peninsula including Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga del Norte, experienced flooding due to continuous rainfall brought by the Southwest Monsoon.

II. Status of Affected Areas and Population
A total of 54,729 families or 265,806 persons are affected in 175 barangays in Regions IX, XII and BARMM. (see Annex A).
