I. Situation Overview

On 08 January 2024, the effects of Shear Line were experienced in Bicol Region, Quezon, Caraga, Davao Region, Misamis Oriental and Camiguin.

On 15 January 2024, the effects of Shear Line were experienced in several municipalities in the Province of Agusan del Sur and Surigao del Sur.

On 16 January 2024, several municipalities in Davao Region also reported the effects of Shear Line.

On 17 January 2024, the effects of Shear Line continued to bring scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Davao Regions.

On 18 January 2024, continuous heavy rains brought by the effects of Shear Line affected the livelihood of fisher folks and farmers in the Municipality of Talisayan in Misamis Oriental.

On 19 January 2024, the Shear Line continuously affected the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao.

On 20 January 2024, the effect of Shear Line has weakened and was no longer directly affecting the country.

II. Status of Affected Areas and Population

A total of 281,549 families or 1,250,461 persons are affected in 840 barangays in Regions V, X, XI, and Caraga (see Annex A).
