I. Situation Overview

Issued on 24 November 2024 at 4:00 AM, cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) may have brought possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains in Caraga and Davao Region.

On the same day, several barangays in the municipality of Malita, Davao Occidental experienced flooding due to continuous heavy rainfall brought by the ITCZ.

II. Status of Affected Areas and Population

A total of 57 families or 202 persons are affected in four (4) barangays in Malita, Davao Occidental (see Annex A).

III. Status of Displaced Population

a. Inside Evacuation Center

A total of 28 families or 98 persons sought temporary shelter at Brgy. Tical Covered Court in in Malita, Davao Occidental (see Annex B).

b. Outside Evacuation Center

A total of 12 families or 42 persons temporarily stayed with their relatives or friends (see Annex C).

c. Total Displaced Population

A total of 40 families or 140 persons were displaced in Malita, Davao Occidental (see Annex D).

IV. Damaged Houses

A total of two (2) houses were partially damaged in Malita, Davao Occidental (see Annex E).
