I. Situation Overview

The Southwest Monsoon affecting the SOCCSKSARGEN Region is forecasted to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. Moderate to heavy rains might also possibly bring flash floods or landslides. Finally, light to moderate winds will prevail from the southwest to southeast direction and the wave height of coastal waters will be slight to moderate (0.6 to 2.1 meters).

On 12 July 2024, heavy rainfall in Datu Montawal (Papagawan), Maguindanao del Sur caused the Pulangi/Rio Grande de Mindanao River to rise and consequently flooding some low-lying barangays. On the same day, sustained heavy rains caused the Tual, Nalus, and Pangi Rivers to overflow and subsequently submerge several homes in Kiamba, Sarangani.
