I. Situation Overview
On 08 July 2024 at around 5:00 PM, a flooding incident occurred in Brgy. Malinis and Brgy. Matibay in Lamitan City, Basilan due to continuous rains brought about by the localized thunderstorms in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) and Zamboanga Peninsula causing the Gubauan River to overflow, and coinciding with high tides during the time of the incident.

II. Status of Affected Areas and Population
A total of 335 families or 1,675 persons are affected in two (2) barangays in the City of Lamitan, Basilan (see Annex A).
