I. Situation Overview

On 24 July 2023 at around 9 AM, an armed conflict transpired at Sitio Almara, Brgy. Bigaan, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur between the troops of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the alleged members of the New People’s Army (NPA) which also affected the nearby Brgy. Santa Juana in Tagbina, Surigao del Sur.

II. Status of Affected Areas and Population

A total of 337 families or 1,275 persons are affected in two (2) barangays in Surigao del Sur (see Table 1).
