PHILIPPINES
Typhoon Nari affected over 740,000 people, killed 13 and displaced 96,000 people in the northern Philippines. More than 440,000 homes were damaged. The Government is responding and a clean-up operation is underway. There is no request for international assistance.

INDIA
Tropical Cyclone Phailin made landfall on 12 Oct in Odisha state, as a category 4 storm. In advance of the storm, some 900,000 people were evacuated to cyclone shelters. Media credits this evacuation with minimizing the effects of the storm. As of 14 Oct, 17 people were killed by the storm, yet 12 million were living in the storm's path. As early as 13 Oct, there were reports of people leaving the evacuation shelters. Assessment teams are currently deployed to report on the damage caused by the storm.

PHILIPPINES
Torrential rains caused flooding and landslides across Zamboanga deteriorating the living conditions of the communities affected by the recent conflict. Approximately 82,000 remain displaced in Zamboanga and Basilan. The CERF allocated US$3 million to support emergency operations. Nonetheless, only 28% of the required $24 million Action Plan to support 170,000 conflict-affected people has been received.

SOUTHEAST ASIA
Heavy flooding, caused by seasonal rains and compounded by recent storms, has affected large areas in SE Asia. Tropical Cyclone Nari is expected to impact the same locations that have already been affected by flooding.
In Thailand, as of 11 Oct, 39 people have been killed by flooding that has affected 28 provinces. Of these, three are categorized as 'critical'; Sa Kaew, Prachin Buri and Chachoengsao.
In Vietnam, as of 9 Oct, 13 people have been killed by flooding, with another 208 injured. The two worst affected provinces are Quang Binh and Quang Tri. The UN plans to request an OCHA Emergency Cash Grant to provide food and NFI assistance to affected households in Quang Binh.
The Vietnamese Government is evacuating tens of thousands of people in the path of Cyclone Nari, which is forecasted to make landfall in the evening of 14 Oct.
In Cambodia, as of 8 Oct, over 161,000 households were affected in 16 provinces. 83 people have been killed thus far. The Government, Red Cross, and NGOs are providing immediate assistance.
