Some 3,300 people remain displaced in Kyethi and Monghsu townships since fighting started in southern Shan State on 6 Oct. Armed conflict continued until late Nov but no clashes have been reported since then, according to partners. While some displaced people have been able to return, others remain unable to return due to the proximity of military positions to villages. Landmines are also a concern. Local CSOs and NGOs are leading the immediate response and have provided initial relief items, with support from INGOs and UN agencies. Urgent outstanding needs remain in terms of shelter and WASH, as well as access to healthcare for some of the locations. Many people have also lost their harvest and crops will need further livelihoods support once they are able to return home. . 3,300 people displaced
