Abra police reaches out to far flung areas through ‘KADAbra’

BANGUED, Abra, Jan. 13 (PIA) --The Abra Police Provincial Office (PPO) is breaking the barriers of distance reaching out to people of upland municipalities of the province to bring government programs and services to their doors.
Abra PPO headed by Provincial Director PCol. Alfredo K. Dangani recently relaunched its best practice program for peace and development dubbed as “KADAbra”.
The inspiration of this program came from the popular term “Abra Kadabra” which is a term for magical summoning, Dangani disclosed.
KAD which stands for “Kagimongan Agdidinnanggay para iti Dur-as ti AABRA” (Unity of the People towards a Progressive Abra), aims to create a closer engagement with the people by extending various programs concentrating on anti-terrorism, good governance, anti-illegal drugs, internal cleansing and anti-criminality.
Dangani said this is in line with President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s Executive Order No. 70 institutionalizing a “Whole-Of-Nation” approach in ending local communist armed conflict towards the attainment of sustainable peace.
One of the main features of KADAbra is the provision of free medical, dental and haircut services, and feeding activities in far flung areas.
During their recent outreach program in the municipality of Daguioman, 503 residents received free medical, dental and haircut services. They also received grocery items, hygiene kits and slippers.
About 353 pupils of Cabaruyan Elementary School, Pikek Elementary School and Daguioman Central School also benefited from the feeding activity during the outreach.
Dangani said that this effort will counter the claim of leftist groups, which is absence of the government services in local communities.
This Abra PPO-led activity is supported by the Armed Forces of the Philippines, government agencies, municipal advisory councils and various stakeholders. (JDP/CAGT- PIA CAR, Abra)
