On 1 June at 10.30 UTC a landslide triggered by heavy rainfall occurred in the Ayacucho region in south-western Peru, resulting in casualties and damage.
According to media, as of 4 June, six people died and one person was rescued after a landslide hit a truck on a road in the Anco district of the La Mar province in the Valley of the Apurimac, Ene and Mantaro rivers (VRAEM) region.
Local authorities are conducting search operation as one person is likely still missing.
Drier conditions are forecast for the Ayacucho region over the next 48 hours.
