A rock fall triggered by heavy rainfall occurred on 1 December in the Central Highway in the district of San Mateo, in in central eastern Huarochirí province, central Peru, resulting in casualties and damage.
As of 5 December, media reports three fatalities due to a landslide-related incident and a blocked highway.
For the next 24 hours, drier conditions are expected across the Huarochirí province, and more rainfall is forecast in the central and western parts of the country.
