Monitoring Emergencies: Peru - 02/07/2017: Flooding in the Department of Lambayeque- Update

On February 4, 2017, a state of emergency was declared for three departments in northern Peru, Tumbes, Piura, and Lambayeque. More than 170,000 people have been affected by floods and landslides nationwide and more 85,000 of those people are located in Lambayeque. According to the latest reports from the National Emergency Operations Center (COEN) and National Civil Defense Institute (INDECI), around 27,300 people have been affected at the national level, and from that about 24,700 people were affected in Lambayeque. In response to the emergency, the Government has delivered 168 tons of humanitarian aid to the districts of Lambayeque. (OS: RELIEF WEB- OCHA PERU)
