  • WFP Paraguay is enhancing the logistics capabilities of the Government by providing technical assistance through a DIPECHO grant.

  • WFP Paraguay has received the first disbursement for the DIPECHO X grant in June.

WFP Assistance

DIPECHO IX (10025167): WFP’s role is to strengthen the National Emergency Secretariat’s logistics capacities, and to improve the civil-military cooperation for emergency responses.

SDG (10024973): In this interagency project, financed through the Sustainable Development Goals Fund, with the participation of FAO, WHO, and UNICEF, WFP is in charge of encouraging local food production, with an emphasis on risk management among indigenous populations.

UNHSTF (200782): This interagency project of PAHO/WHO, UNDP and WFP, aims to strengthen human security of vulnerable households in Paraguay’s Chaco region. WFP is improving the food security of indigenous families through the reinforcement of school feeding programmes and the government’s Comprehensive Nutritional Food Program (PANI), which addresses undernourishment in children under the age of 5. WFP-led activities also promote livelihood protection.

DIPECHO X (200986): In close cooperation with UNDP, Cooperazione Internazionale (COOPI), and the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), WFP is in charge of strengthening the local logistics and emergency response capacities of the National Emergency Secretariat (SEN).
